Hachishakusama

The “Eight Feet Tall” lady, known as Hachishakusama (八尺様) in Japanese, is a prominent urban legend originating from Japan, first circulating on internet forums like 2chan around 2008.
She is described as an impossibly tall female spirit, standing approximately eight feet (about 2.42 meters) tall, with unnaturally long limbs and pale skin.
Her appearance varies, often depicted as a woman in a long white dress and wide-brimmed hat, sometimes wearing a kimono or white sandals, with long black hair and a face obscured by darkness.
A defining characteristic is her chilling, repetitive utterance of “Po… Po… Po…” which is said to echo through the air, signaling her presence.
The legend claims she preys on children, particularly those aged nine to eleven, using her height and the ability to mimic voices to lure them away before kidnapping them, with victims never seen again.
While the story is widely shared online and has inspired elements in modern horror games and media, including potential influence on characters like Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village, Hachishakusama is considered a fictional urban legend with no verifiable evidence of real existence.
